This shot was done during a test shoot with an amazing young model Sophia. The makeup and hair were very natural and clean, since the main intention here is to showcase the model and not the makeup. I've been using this image to try some new retouching techniques. Specifically the frequency separation method. The retouching was kept to minimum and I mostly concentrated on smoothing out skin tones rather than anything else. Sophia has great skin (and Maraz is an excellent makeup artist) so it's rather easy to keep her looking natural. That being said - using one light source and small aperture as I often do, often highlights every pore and every wrinkle, especially in the area of transition from light to shadow, hence the need for some very careful retouching. I do not claim to be the greatest retoucher in the world, so any critique or advise is of course very much welcome.
